Debora Schneider Betts

Debora teaches guitar and ukulele at Sandbach Music.

Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Débora is an electric and acoustic guitarist and singer. Prior to relocating to the UK in 2009, Débora obtained her Bachelor of Music (Major in Electric Guitar) from Faculdade de Artes Alcântara Machado, São Paulo, Brazil. In 2010, Débora earned her Master of Music (Composition) degree, graduating with distinction from the University of Liverpool.

In 2011 and 2012 Débora was invited to give guest lectures about Brazilian music in the music departments of Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and the University of Liverpool.

During her time in Liverpool, Débora performed in various venues, including Studio 2 on Parr Street, Shipping Forecast, MelloMello, the Bluecoat and others. She is an experienced performer, both as a solo artist and in various mixed ensembles. Débora’s musical style is diverse, ranging from Brazilian Popular Music (Samba and Bossa Nova) to Pop Rock and Jazz.

While living in Nantwich, Débora volunteered as the conductor for the Community Training Band, a part of the Nantwich Concert Band. In parallel to that, she was also involved with the Nantwich Players Theatre, doing the musical direction for Jamaica Inn (2014) and the youth theatre’s production of Teechers (2015). Débora also teaches guitar and ukulele in primary schools in the area.
