Learn to Play Day
On 21st March, Sandbach Music took part the fourth national Learn To Play Day. Created by the UK musical instrument charity, Music For All, this annual event is designed to inspire everyone, young or old, to join in an amazing musical learning experience and opportunity. This was the first time Sandbach Music have been involved with the event, but we are sure it won’t be the last!
With the support of a team of our tutors, Kerry Baldwin, Sam Minshall, Julia Mosley, Niamh Francis, Darren Poyzer, Ben Emerton, Tracy Martin and Adam Palma we were able to offer 20-minute taster lessons throughout the day, completely free of charge, in a variety of different instruments including piano, keyboard, drums, brass, woodwind, guitar and voice. Younger children were invited to try out our Key Stage 1 classes too.
Our friends from the Love Music Trust also helped us out with the hire of some instruments for use during the taster lessons.
We would like to extend our thanks to all who came along and took part on the day, and especially to our tutors who gave their time to come along and provide the lessons.
