Sandbach Music (a trading name of Ohana Music Ltd) is a not-for-profit company based in Sandbach, Cheshire. Following many years as an instrumental teacher working in local schools and teaching privately, Kerry Baldwin felt that there was an opportunity to open a new centre for music education in Sandbach. After months of planning, Ohana Music opened its doors in September 2014, later becoming Sandbach Music in January 2015.
Our centre is situated on the first floor of 10 Congleton Road above the Elegance Boutique, Headlines Hair Studio, JV Bottrell Accountants and Boots Opticians. It boasts great facilities with well-equipped teaching rooms, two ensemble rooms and a comfy waiting room to relax in. We can support your learning with our range of sheet music books and accessories, which are also available to browse in the reception area.
Serving Sandbach, Crewe, Nantwich, Middlewich, Holmes Chapel and the surrounding area, we offer lessons to suit pupils from 7 years old upwards, children and adults alike. We can accommodate lessons for all abilities in a wide variety of instruments including piano, keyboard, electric or acoustic guitar, bass guitar, brass, woodwind, drums, percussion and the voice. Lessons can be taught in a group, a pair or one-to-one. We select well qualified and experienced teachers who are committed to making music lessons enjoyable and rewarding. We will help you to develop your performance skills and provide all the help and support you need.
Through our “Mini Musicians” programme we offer tailored sessions for younger musicians between the ages of 4 and 6 years old.
Sandbach Music is run by a team of two Directors, Dan and Kerry Baldwin. Kerry has a wealth of experience in designing, delivering and evaluating programmes of instrumental tuition for learners of all ages, from beginners to advanced level. Dan, an experienced finance professional, looks after the billing, contracts and accounting.
We are supported by an excellent team of tutors, and deliver our programmes using the latest technologies and instruments. Lessons with us are supported by our Moodle site, which gives teachers and students the opportunity to interact with one-another online in a secure, monitored environment outside of lesson times.
Instrumental tuition is an unregulated profession, and anyone can set themselves up as a music teacher without any qualifications or experience. At Sandbach Music, all of our tutors are well-qualified and experienced, and undergo continuous professional development. We ensure that all our tutors have the relevant DBS clearance for working with young people, and they receive training in Safeguarding as part of their employment with Sandbach Music.
